The end of an era
This is very sad: Brentano’s on the avenue de l’Opéra in Paris has just closed. I bought books there many a times, and I am even certain my Magnetic Poetry too* (which I think my sister has custody of now).
The image is from Charles Bremner’s article on Brentano’s closing, and he also provides this handy list of other English-language bookstores in Paris. My favourites were Tea and Tattered Pages, WH Smith and San Francisco, and let’s cross our fingers that they don’t close!
*Yay!! At least I contributed revenue!
