I just watched you today, and I love you

I had almost given up on François Truffaut: my favourite was Vivement Dimanche (his last film), and I really hadn’t liked every other I had seen from him (Les Quatre Cents Coups, Tirez sur le pianiste, Jules et Jim). But Le Dernier Métro was amazing: shot in 1980, it captures so well the atmosphere of occupied Paris, and focuses on a troupe of comedians and a small theatre in Montmartre.
Watch it: you must!

So I’m cooking amaranth for lunch, which I’m told is a fantastic source of protein and iron (handy for a vegan diet right?). Except, as it’s simmering it kind of smells like cat pee….. I am not so enthusiastic to try it now :(
Could it be taken from the Arc de Triomphe with a really long lens, so the Eiffel Tower looks much closer than it is?

Christian and I are trying to figure out where this was taken from (the title is one of his hypotheses). We don’t really know. I know I want this on my wall!
I’m nostalgic for my country tonight.
