Beautiful portraiture

Unravelling
This pretty image combines a few things I love: lined paper, small spools of thread, and the colours blue, white and red.
It also illustrates how I am feeling right now to a point, after almost a full day of cleaning downstairs (sans stepladder in case you’re wondering). Nothing a bath and some soy milk chocolate won’t fix. Ha!
Handy kids – not
‘Most Australian kids are pretty handy. There’s something about French children that makes them not know which is the right end of a screwdriver.’

Paris public transport
If you’re in Paris (or are going to be) before October 4th, you might like to go to the photographic exhibition organised by the RATP (‘Régie Autonome des Transports Parisiens’ or ‘Autonomous Operator of Parisian Transports’). It’s a great opportunity to go back 60 years and see some gorgeous old Paris shots, non?
For a laugh you might also like to know most people in Paris joke RATP stands for ‘Rentre Avec Tes Pieds’ (Go Home with Your Feet), given its low service records and high frequency of strikes.

Late night treat
Because it’s been a really long day (filled with hard work, errands and more cleaning) we are making banana pancakes at 9:21 pm.
More map inspiration
Another potential idea for where to put my Michelin France map.

Oats à la Jeremy
I met Jeremy through my beautiful friend Jen (who likes straws, remember?), and on top of being a lovely guy and a snappy dresser he gave me this amazing trick to make oats.
This is what I learnt:
*Soak the oats first (I use rice or soy milk, I can’t stand oats made with water)
*Simmer the oats without EVER bringing to the boil (I think he mentioned half an hour – I personally can’t wait that long).
*Turn off the flame, leave them to rest (for as long as you can stand to wait).
*Turn the flame back on, simmer again. You might need to add more milk at this point if the oats have solidified a bit.
My life (and breakfasts, or lunches as is the case today) will never be the same again.
Thank you so much Jeremy!

I am not comfortable with heights – any height – which makes using a step ladder a small accomplishment each time (yay!).
Today I am 30 years and 2 months old. I don’t make resolutions normally but 2 months ago, I did: stop living by unkind rules, limitations, judgements and rejections I had placed on myself.
