You can put something on and feel yourself and yet special.

Martha (of Uniform Natural) said so. And since I usually want to buy the whole shop when I visit, I believe her.
As far as clothing is concerned, I don’t have much to spend so I only op-shop (and maybe buy the occasional pair of cheap vegan shoes, since they can be hard to find second-hand). I squirm at the idea of spending a small fortune on a piece of clothing* (especially the chain-store kind) – and I don’t like fashion’s seasonal cycles, or even the word ‘fashion’ itself.
I sometimes have a confidence crisis in the morning when I am getting dressed that I will look too boring, since I dress myself in basics and staples. Usually though I really like how it turns out. Christian and I refer to it as ‘the Zen approach’ – in other words, if you care too much or try too hard, it will look wrong and forced. That’s my opinion and I’m sticking to it.
*Although I wouldn’t mind dropping $200 on the pictured dress (which you can find at Uniform Natural). I think I would feel myself and very special wearing it…
